ok i will do it: All the bands played really tight sets, probably the best set I have seen from all 4 bands Gut opened, they are a bluesy thrash band with touches of death metal and hardcore. The crowd loved them, people bouncing around and singing along. They played a 30 minute set, a good mix of fast thrashier songs and some slower more jam/bluesy type songs. Ravage, boston's favorite metal band, played second and the crowd went fucking nuts, as half the people came to see them. Everyone was singing along and shit. Their new drummer was awesome (he is also in cryptic warning) so they were right on the money. great mix of iron maiden, judas priest meets danzig. I would say those guys are probably ready to start headlining smaller clubs in boston Bane of Existence was 3rd, and if anyone has ever seen them on full sound system then you will know what I am talking about. It was basically a wall of noise, but not to the point were it was just indistinguishable noise because again quite a few people were singing along, mostly to the older songs from the red invasion split. Then of course, a pit broke out which was pretty fun. The girls ruled that one, especially Stephanie from ALL LOCAL and soundcheck Disengaged headlined because it was there CD release party (which sold pretty well I might add). There was still a good 50 people there past midnight to see them. their songs are a variety, ranging from in your face thrash songs, punk rock anthem songs and their 2 newest songs which are pretty epic (can't stop bleeding and the ocean). The end of their set was the 90210 theme song which turned into madness on stage when the bassist kicked the guitarist into the singer who then repeatedly began jumping into the wall, then the guitarist threw his guitar into the bass drum (it went straight through it), the bassist dove into the drums, then the drummer nosedived over the drums and the bassist, onto one of the guitarists. always a fun time seeing disengaged. For a real review check out next month's noise and soundcheck, people from both those magazines were there.
