Fully appreeshed. This is the release that, other than first wave stuff (Venom, CF) and the first Darkthrone record (which doesn't really count) got me into all this blasphemin' and face-paintin'. (Fun fact: This was actually handed down to me by TJ, AKA Thorn from that one Vital record.) Lots of great stuff on here, some of it supposedly otherwise-unreleased. You really get a feeling of the state of things toward the end of the last decade (release date is '99). Artists are from pretty much around the world - Scandinavia and the US are well-represented, but there's also bands from Japan, (I think) South America, and most of "regular-ass, non-Viking Europe." Overall, you get a pretty solid mix of styles - mostly with good-to-passable recordings, along with a few 4-track blurs and a couple of keyboardy atmosphere tracks to spice things up. I'm really digging this all over again - lots of stuff I never bothered to track down that just made it on my want list. LOL @ Mayhem listed with no vocal credit and Grishnackh on bass, BTW.
