Not Dieting, Unhealthy Lifestyles, Gaining Weight Appreciation[views:2964][posts:37]_____________________________________ [Oct 14,2009 10:28am - arilliusbm ""] There's two sides to every coin. Well, unless you're a failed Batman antagonist. This is for all the people who sit around and divulge in intellectual stimulation rather than worrying about starving yourself. Granted, I want to lose weight sometime soon, but I'm glad to have spent the past 5 years living the lifestyle I had. More time for reading, video games, writing music, and spending time with friends and family. Hopefully I'm not the only one who appreciates the unhealthy lifestyle. |

I spent the greater portion of my nights in the gym or running. But for the past 5 years i've spent the greater portion of my nights reading, researching and writing. I wouldn't be able to do all that stuff if I went to the gym as much. Obviously that's going to change soon, but I'm not going to hate myself for pursuing intellectual gain over physical gain. |

Aside from near-elimination of junk food intake, I eat and drink everything and still have plenty of time for intellectual masturbation. But now that I'm 24 my knees are showing signs of old age, I can place the blame entirely on track&field and skateboarding for 5 hours everyday before I bought a car. An active lifestyle means more energy for other things. I'm trying to focus on having more energy during the day but it's tough when I've just developed a coffee addiction to avoid total apathy at work - a 9 to 5 office job really adds 10 years to your life. I miss landscaping, selling guitars/electronics, having sex 5 times a day, and going to school. |

Backed 1000%. The more I think about it, the more I want to move up somewhere inthe Yukon and become a hermit. Course it would be hard for a hermit to get laid 5 times a day, but there'd be other alternatives |
____________________________________ [Oct 14,2009 10:51am - arktouros ""] Also, being a metal drummer completely replaces the need for a gym or any exercise regimen, aside from the Bruce Lee pull-up and freeweight balance routine that I've adapted for myself. But it sucks that past 10pm I usually have no energy to read or pickup a video game controller - it probably has a lot to do with drinking and smoking every evening and not eating the foods I should be. |

Not that those things don't have their place, but it can become routine. There's more to life than indulgences. |

On a more Martins-like note, it really isn't very difficult to stimulate your brain and maintain a healthy diet at the same time. In fact, with the lifestyle changes I am enacting, I find that I have MORE time to read, write, play music, play videogames, and cook. I'm more focused now than I ever have been. Something I'm considering doing in the future when I'm officially on my own, is moving to Europe or to somewhere where I know where all my food was raised or grown, where I'm not bombarded by idiotic mainstream American society, and can live in absolute peace. But hey, I'm still in diapers so that's 20+ years from now, right? |
