please help me find good All Ages venues close to Greater Boston for these two shows[views:1525][posts:14]__________________________________________________ [Aug 25,2004 12:51am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] October 2nd and October 23rd. The first I need 100-200 capacity, low overhead financially. I am looking into AS220 but they haven't responded to my email yet and have this time frame that's like "Thursdays between 6 and 8" or somethin' when you gotta call...so I'm just waiting till then. Might call outside that time frame. I'm gonna call that PA Club in a minute and see what their deal is. My only fear is I might blow Pat from FNS's cover if he's telling them he's doing like "private parties" and I call about a show :\ You know, the usual hall rental BS. I'm also really worried about doing the 23rd at a hall because I don't want it to get shut down, at all, cause it's a big time and financial responsibility. The elks sucks. They charge A LOT and work the door themselves. It's small capacity, and they get noodgy about how they do shows. I'm trying to avoid that, if possible. Thanks for the ideas, keep 'em coming. I think you access it from the same parking lot as the Alewife shopping center (Toys R Us, Wholefoods, etc.) or if not, maybe through the Best Western lot next door. I know they are calling it the Hideaway for rock shows but that's not the real name of the place - I talked to the guy there about doing some shows a few years ago and he seemed interested (all ages during the day, 18+ at night but maybe they'll be flexible about that) - Anyway, that's like 1/2 a mile away from Alewife for public transportation suckers, and there's plenty of parking for all of us eco-hogs in our SUVs and such... An exploratory journey over there would probably be worthwhile, I'm pretty sure the building looks like a normal cheesy meat market type club... |
